THE HOLLOW SKELETON OF A SPERM WHALE

Here's a completely different attempt at this weeks Illustration Friday!
I don't normally post more realistic illustrations, but since this one fit the category, I figured I'd give it a shot and hear what you all think. I drew this illustration by hand first and then enhanced the shadows and highlights in Photoshop. A bit of a stray from my normal style, but I definitely enjoyed trying something new!

Hey folks! Here's my entry for this weeks Illustration Friday. So lately, I've been starting to play more with textures in my work by bringing my vector art into Photoshop and seeing what I can come up with. It's very subtle in this piece but here's one of my first attempts! I'll also be posting another entry in a completely different style. Be sure to check that one out too!

Please enjoy this happy, little green turtle, who is flying a very colorful kite on a beautiful, green, spring day! Yay! Boy, oh boy...I can hardly wait for the weather to warm up so that I too may go out and enjoy the warmth and excitement of springtime. :)

Illustration Friday: Super Hero

Here to save the day...IT'S SUPER BOY!!!

This is my entry for this week's Illustration Friday: Super Hero theme. This topic was quite fun to do. I'm especially excited about the background color in my illustration. I must have experimented for an hour before I got it just right. Overall, I think it's a great compliment to this little hero's quite colorful costume. :)

Illustration Friday: Buzz

THIS LITTLE BEE LOVES HONEY!

This little critter is my submission for this week's Illustration Friday. Like most everyone else, I associate the word Buzz with bees! Haha! Well, this week, there are two similar pictures here because I couldn't decide whether or not I liked the bee better with or without hair. I think he looks great either way, so there you go. :) As you'll notice in the first image, I have also taken to experimenting a little with textures in an effort to really pump up the depth and interest. Hope you enjoy it!

Illustration Friday: Thanksgiving

HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE!

Believe it or not, I've been a long time "participator" of Illustration Friday, however I've never really gotten around to creating a blog to post my submissions. I suppose you could call me a "closet participant". Well all of that's about to change! Happily, I've kicked myself into high gear and am finally making the step to actually participating online. Yay! (Perhaps for fun I'll even post some of my older submissions a bit later.)

My hope is that this blog will not only serve as a place to host my Illustration Friday submissions, but also to share all kinds of cute goodies and fun stuff that I find along the way and can't in good conscience keep to myself! Hooray! So take a look around (I realize there's really not much up yet...hehehe, but there's no harm in being hospitable!) and let me know what you think!

So anyway, here it is: my very first post and I'm super excited about it. I sure do hope you enjoy it too! It's my submission for Illustration Friday's Thanksgiving topic. Not much to say about it, except that I had a lot of fun drawing the different dishes. But all of this drawing of yummy treats only makes me ever more excited for tomorrows festivities! But that's a good thing though, right? haha!

Alright, well I'm off to begin a culinary adventure in preparation for tomorrow...More to come very soon!
